At eighteen, I opened an antique shop in the small Welsh village where I grew up. I loved finding beautiful items and imagining how they would look in a home, and the experience of seeing people fall in love with the pieces in my store stayed with me. In my twenties, I managed a hot air balloon adventure company traveling across the UK and Europe and it quickly taught me how to manage logistics whilst giving my clients a joyful and memorable experience.

After the adventure company, I built a successful career in the UK film industry. My biggest takeaway was the delight of being part of a collaborative team. And working on a movie is also where I met my American husband!

After moving to Los Angeles, I quickly saw why people love it here. The sandy beaches, warm weather, and diverse community make it a fantastic place to live. Our first apartment was right in the heart of LA.

We saved for a few years and finally bought our first home during the buying frenzy of 2003. It was a mess, but after three years, many trips to the hardware store, and A LOT of hard work, we sold it for a profit before moving on to our current home.

We learned how confusing and stressful buying a home can be, especially when you have an inexperienced agent. Our agent didn't advise us on potential pitfalls, upcoming costs, or which home inspections we should do. We became overwhelmed with information, piles of paperwork, and contradictory advice from family and friends.

So, when we sold our home, I decided to get my real estate license and do it myself. Afterward, I realized I could combine my knowledge of home design and home sales, and my love of being part of a team to help people buy and sell homes as a career.

But you shouldn't have to add to the stress of buying or selling a home by endlessly searching the internet, hoping for the correct answer, or by asking well-meaning but perhaps inexperienced friends and family for advice. Because if you get it wrong, you could end up paying more for a home than you should, being taken advantage of while under contract or selling for less than you could.
