I was born and raised in England and Wales where I decided at 18 to throw myself into the entrepreneurial world by opening an antique store to source and sell antiques to discerning clients in the UK and USA. When I sold that business I moved to London and built a successful career in the UK film industry before moving to Los Angeles in the heyday of the 1990’s.

Deciding to jump into the real estate market in 2003, my husband and I bought our very first home right in the heart of the city close to Hancock Park. It needed a lot of work and took a few years for us to fully renovate, tools in hand and learning as we went. When we sold we used the profits from that sale to jump up the ladder into our next home and repeated the process.

As successful as we were with the home renovation, we felt disappointed in our home buying experience when it came to our agent. We would have loved advice on inspections, potential pitfalls and where we could negotiate. Instead we were overwhelmed with information, piles of paperwork, and contradictory advice wherever we looked. I decided that next time it would be different and got my real estate license.

I don’t want you to add to the possible stress of buying or selling a home by endlessly searching the internet hoping for the correct answer, or by asking well-meaning but perhaps inexperienced friends and family for advice.
